We are hiring a Repossession Abandonment Specialist within our Repossession Department.  

Responsibilities in your area will include:

  • Coordinate pickup and delivery of abandoned vehicles.
  • Counsel customers on the Abandonment process when needed and ensure we are in compliance when securing these vehicles.
  • Work with impounds, and repair facilities to negotiate fees and charges.
  • Contact impound lots and repair facilities to negotiate fees owed to secure vehicles.
  • Answer phones calls from auctions, contractors, customers, shops/impound lots, and internal Credit Acceptance departments.
  • Evaluate vehicle condition, value and determine most cost effective manner to secure and sell the vehicle and to determine when the vehicle is not worth repossession.
  • Ensure Statutory Notices and compliance requirements are adhered to.
  • Ensure that the abandoned process guidelines are adhered to.
  • Work with our repossession contractor network to ensure ABAN related repossession requests are being processed; vehicles are secured and transported to auction.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous customer service or collections experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and Internet experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of vehicle repair or estimating experience
  • Experience negotiating with vendors and customers
  • Experience in auto sales, remarketing vehicles or insurance process
  • Experience in the finance or automotive industry
