We are hiring a Payment Processing Specialist within our Finance Department.   

Responsibilities in your area will include:

  • Processing Customer payments:  You will spend up to 80% of your time posting customer payments and balancing transactions in the Loan Servicing System.
  • Provide Support: You will support customer requests, as well as other departmental requests as needed.
  • Adhere to Policies/Processes:  You will need to remain compliant with our policies, processes and legal guidelines.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Who Are We Looking for?

Our ideal candidate for this role needs to:

  • Speak clearly, professionally and articulately.
  • Comfortable with repetitive tasks including handling of cash, checks and electronic payments.
  • Manage a flexible work schedule.
  • Manage conflict resolution.
  • Operate office equipment (copy machines, fax, telephone, mouse & keyboard, and ten-key adding machine).
  • Work in a fast paced environment.
  • Document account notes clearly and efficiently.
  • Work independently and in a team environment.
  • Timely and accurately post payments received by internal/external mail, non-sufficient funds, and account corrections.
  • Research and respond to internal departmental customer service requests.
  • Professionally and respectfully assist customers and team members on account research items.
  • Accurately balance transactions processed and review daily transactions.
  • With a high attention to detail, post manual exceptions and adjustments for customer payments.
  • Professionally and respectfully assist both internal/external customers to maintain high service levels.
  • Provide backup duties pertaining to the Payment Processing Department.
  • Support additional payment processing requests.
  • Remain compliant with our policies, processes and legal guidelines.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Previous cash handling or banking experience.
  • High school diploma.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in any position where you had to work in a fast paced environment.
